The Power of Our Mind

Our mind is more powerful than we can ever imagine.
Why is it that despite the possible devastating effects of two strokes, a 35 year-old single mother of three, shocked doctors by walking out of the hospital only three days after surviving two strokes? It is all due to the power of the mind.
On January 7, 2008, the lady mentioned above, my client,  suffered a stroke while at her office. On the way to the hospital she suffered another stroke in the ambulance. Her speech was impaired. She was paralyzed on the right side of her body. She was placed in the ICU for stroke victims and doctors told her that it will take her a long time before she will walk and have a use of her right hand and she would never recover one hundred percent.
She immediately started practicing the visualization and positive thinking techniques I taught her, she had put to such great use in her business. Only a few hours after she had been admitted she had already regained her speech and she was able to lift her arm and foot about 5 inches off the bed. I told her that the doctors did all they could and the rest belonged to her.
She started setting goals for her recovery. She said that she would love to be able to hold a cup in her right hand. Two days later she held a cup in her right hand and drank from it. She also walked to the bathroom with a help of another person. The doctors could not believe how quickly she was recovering.
On January 10th, just three days after the stroke, she could walk by herself and was released from the hospital with a cane, just in case. Exactly one week after the stroke she could eat with a fork and she can even write. She says that her writing is like a 5 year-old child’s, but this is only a week after the strokes.
Three weeks later she has returned to work full time. She can walk wearing high heels. She can drive her car and even her hand writing has returned to normal. This is unheard of. Her doctor told her that she must have a guardian angel to recover so quickly. What a powerful mind!

Your Powerful Inner Self

P.S.
You have two choices of an attitude, and related actions, when faced with a really big goal:

1.    See it impossible to achieve – action - go and buy a big box of tissues, you will need it.
2.    Mission Possible - Action - Roar like a wild beast and go for it. That will scare all the obstacles away (they will run away from you, as no one wants to be in the way of a crazy person). Then, smile all the way to the bank.

The choice is yours. If it was me, I prefer wild and rich.

  1. If she can walk out of the hospital so soon after suffering two strokes, what can I do with a healthy mind and body? I am now expressing gratitude for what I have and for what I am going to receive!
