A New Year’s Resolution
December 26, 2007 on 8:40 pm | In Habits | 4 CommentsEvery single year, just before January 1st or just after, we make plans what we are going to change in our lives in the coming year. We want to lose weight, exercise more, quit smoking, earn more money, get a better job, study more, get that car or that house…or whatever it is that we want. Very often we make a New Year’s Resolution and somehow the things we want, do not happen. We start every year promising ourselves that this time we are really going to do it. And we are doing it for a while and then…somehow…we are not sure why things start to slide down and our excitement about improvement gets lower and lower and we fall into the same trap. We are back to the old thing. Why?
The answer is very simple. What stops us in our tracks are our old habits. The habits that controlled us for our entire life are controlling us now as well. We want to do well, we plan to do well and we start well, but until we change those habits nothing is going to change in our lives. Very often we underestimate the power of our habits. They are so powerful and they virtually control every move we make. As an example, this morning when you went to your bathroom and picked up your toothbrush, you did not try to figure out what to do with it. You automatically started to brush your teeth. The same happened when you went to get dressed. You did not think how to put your clothes on, you only picked up what you wanted to wear and then you put them on, not giving a single thought that your legs go into trousers instead of arms. It was automatic. The same way you drive your car.. and the same way different areas of our lives are controlled by our habits.
So, for us to be able to change anything in our lives in 2008 we have to change our habits first.
What is your New Year’s Resolution?
What are you going to do about it?

“Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is delay, not defeat. It is a temporary detour not a dead end. Failure is something we can avoid, by saying nothing, doing nothing and being nothing.”

Let’s trip over, take a wrong turn or catch a tiny fish. This way we know we are going somewhere. Those are the lessons of life and we can not get them and learn from them, if we stay were we are.

Passion
December 15, 2007 on 11:45 pm | In Purpose in Life, Goals | 1 CommentSo many people go through life never doing what they would really love to do.
One pastor said, “At a funeral the saddest thing is not the death of the body, but the death of the dreams.” It is the car you haven’t bought, the house you never purchased, the vacations you never took. This is the thing you always wanted to do and you have never done it. You just settle for something less. For the job that just paid your bills letting the true dream, the true passion pass you by. Don’t let his ever happen to you!
Do you know how you feel when you find your passion and you follow it? You feel ALIVE! You can’t wait till Monday, you eat, sleep, think and dream your passion. The feeling is so intense, so overwhelming and so fantastic that your life becomes a dream…a dream that you live every single day of your life.
How do I know that? I know it first hand, because I live it. What I do is my passion. I can not wait till the next session, till the next seminar, for the next Thought Mail (motivational message) I send to brighten your day. I eat, sleep, breathe and think my passion. How I feel every day and what I experience in my life is simply MAGICAL.
You too can find your passion, pursue it and live a life you never thought was possible.

Comfort zone is a comfortable place to be, but very dangerous.
You can never stay still. You either grow and move forward, or you disintegrate.

You better make sure you grow as the last option does not sound too attractive.

Why Are We Thinking Negative Thoughts? Continuation…Answers
December 10, 2007 on 5:00 am | In Discussion, Our Thinking | 5 CommentsThank you all for the wonderful comments you posted. I will try to answer some of them here.
Lori, your story is very touching. People will always ridicule and criticize something they don’t understand, something that does not fit into the model formed by society, if we are in any way different from that model. At the end of the day, it is not what other people think. It is what we think. It is hard to do that when we are children surrounded by negativism. As I pointed that out before 97% of people are negative, but it does not mean that we have to be one of them.
One plastic surgeon did research on women who had deformity in their faces. After successful operations, when the women were really pretty, many of them still hid their faces as they still saw themselves as being ‘ugly”. Why is that? The real beauty comes from inside. You have to see yourself pretty first before anyone can see your beauty. Changing outside without changes inside is not going to do the trick. We are like the snow flakes. You will never find another one like you and I or anyone else. We have so much to offer to the world. We have so much potential. It does not matter what our physical appearances are.
I walk with a cane, Lori. Incurable disease of my nervous system. Am I normal? For me, the question rather is, would I like to be “normal”? My answer to it is NO. For me “normal” is a person that lives with all the limitations put by our society. No, I don’t want to be “normal”. I helped so many people to change their lives and I will keep doing this for the rest of my life. I don’t want anyone to be “normal”. Who is “normal”? To me a “normal” person is an average person who goes to work with a job which he or she often does not like, lives from a paycheck to paycheck or have little savings, have 2.3 children, and have a chance of getting divorce around 40%. I want every person to feel special, unique, because they are. I want every person, to be really happy and successful with a job or career they love, and experiencing a true love. Is that possible? Yes, absolutely.
Please, read Bill’s comment on Today’s World Blog I posted in November about negativity. See how he has found his way out of negativity. Thank you for your comment Bill.
What is your view on the great question Lori posed. What is “normal”? Who is “normal’?
Write me your comments, your ideas.
I am looking forward to your thoughts.
