Reflection In the Mirror

September 7, 2008 on 2:06 am | In Our Thinking | 1 Comment

We very often blame everything and everyone around us for the things that happen to us. We say I would be very successful in my business if the economy wasn’t bad. I would have great relationships if my spouse/partner changed his/her behavior, I would have lots of fun time if I had great friends, etc.  Let me explain something to you.

Imagine you are looking in a mirror. What do you see? You see your reflection. Let’s say you are wearing a white top. Can you change the reflection in the mirror? I mean change the actual white color of your top into blue in the reflection in the mirror? No, it is impossible to change the actual reflection. The only way you can change the reflection is to change the object that is reflected. If you want to change the color of your top in your reflection you have to change the top you have on, to a blue one, to see your reflection with the blue top. You see your whole life, in every area, money, relationships, health, friendships, spiritual life ( not necessary religious ) is a reflection of what you are thinking. We are trying to change people, change circumstances and that is a futile task. It is like changing a reflection in a mirror. Impossible task! The only way you can change your life (the reflection) is changing your thoughts ( the object that is reflected). When you change your thoughts you will find that the reflection is going to change. Your life will change. The business that wasn’t doing well suddenly starts picking up, the relationship that was on the rocks becomes a dream come true. Your family becomes more loving, friends are different and the list goes on. And one day you look at the mirror and you gasp at the reflection. It will be just awesome. And you will know that all it took was to change how you think.

A great tool that will help you with changing your thinking is Thought Mail, free personalized motivational messages that come Monday through Friday.

“Nothing Happens Until Something Moves”

August 31, 2008 on 4:36 am | In Goals | No Comments

“Nothing happens until something moves.” – Albert Einstein.

How true! You can set the most magnificent goal, you can have the most amazing dream, but if you don’t act on it nothing is going to happen. Thinking and acting are two lines of the same highway. You can not achieve your dream without the right thinking, but the right thinking is not enough to get you to your dream. You have to act on it!

Imagine you are a fisherman or fisherwoman. You decided you are going to have the most successful day in your life and you are going to catch many fish. You are all excited as you know how to think in the right way. You go to your living room, set on your couch and you think positively. You think that you are catching  so many fish, so many…  At the end of the day you look around and you ask yourself, “Where are the fish?” No, fish. You see, you can not get it by thinking only. In order for you to get catch the fish, you have to go and get your boat and go to the sea, and you have to do all the necessary things in order to catch them. It is not going to happen by itself.

There are two basic ingredients of success; right thought and action, and you have to apply both in order to succeed. So, remember, thinking in a right way is great, but “Nothing happens until something moves.”

A great tool that will help you with changing your thinking and staying on course, is Thought Mail, free personalized motivational messages that come Monday through Friday.

Staying Focused on Your Goals

August 23, 2008 on 5:38 am | In Goals | No Comments

How often we set goals and we get very excited about them. We can see ourselves having or living the fantastic dream and then we face an obstacle. What happens then, in most of the time, is that we concentrate on the obstacle. We analyze it, look at it from different angles and soon instead of concentrating on our objective, that is our dream, we get engulfed by the obstacle. By doing that we made the obstacle grow to a size of a mountain, and we lose sight of our goal. It is like driving a car, paying attention to the road which leads us to the destination – our goal, and suddenly having a big bug splashing on our windshield, just in front of our eyes. We try to concentrate on the road and there it is, that big spot, just in the middle of our view.  It is just a bug, and we can still see where we are going, yet for many people that bug takes over and soon it feels to them like the whole windshield is covered with it.

My advice to you is: concentrate on the road to your goal and forget the bug. Don’t let the bug, bug your life. After all it is only a bug. Don’t let the dead bug control YOUR life!

How Do I Change My Thinking? …continuation

August 10, 2008 on 12:21 am | In Our Thinking | 3 Comments

You have learned in the last blog, that the first thing you need to do to change your thinking is to start talking to yourself the way you really deserve.

The second thing is to change what it is that you are thinking about. Your world is a mirror reflection of what you think. You can never change the reflection in the mirror without changing the object that is reflected in it first. In this case the reflection in the mirror is your life, the people in it and how they react to you, and treat you. The object we are talking about here that is reflected in the mirror, is you. The only way to change anything in your life is to change yourself. What it is that you are thinking about most of the day? Are you worrying, are you scared that bad things can happen to you? Are you afraid of sickness, or that you won’t be able to get that job, or to pay those bills, or to get that promotion, or to make that sale? If that is so, then realize, that everything you think about is what you are getting in your life. You get everything you worry about, everything  you are scared of or afraid of. So, what it is that you want in your life? If you want something different than think about what you want. Concentrate on the great things you want. Use the incredible potential you have to create your life the way you want. You can do it! You are born to do it. If you have any doubts about that, email me amanda@totallyuniqueideas.com

Remember, abundance is your birth right. Claim your right!

How Do I Change My Thinking?

August 3, 2008 on 3:02 am | In Our Thinking | 2 Comments

You set your goals and now you realize that in order to achieve them you need to change your thinking. How do you do that?

Who is the person we talk to all day long? It is us. We talk to ourselves all the time. What is that you tell yourself? Do you tell yourself, that you can not achieve your goal, that you set it too high and it is unrealistic? Do you get mad at yourself when you make a mistake, or lost an opportunity, or simply that you are not smart enough to achieve what you want? Do you tell yourself, that you are too fat, too ugly, too….etc, etc.? If this is what you are telling yourself everyday, THAT IS WHO YOU ARE!

The point here is that all of the above are LIES! You are lying to yourself. The truth is you are amazing, brilliant, intelligent, handsome, pretty, special and unique. You are capable of achieving anything in life, but for you in order to achieve it you need to see yourself for what you really are, the amazing human being!

First thing you need to tell yourself the truth. You need to get up every morning and tell yourself while you looking at your reflection in the mirror how special you are. Tell yourself how smart, how brilliant, how handsome, beautiful and amazing….person you are. Talk to yourself like that all day, build yourself up instead of putting yourself down. See the beauty and brilliance in you. And pat yourself on the back every time you do a great job. Remember what people see in you and what they think about you is the reflection of what you are talking to yourself about all day long. So, the next time you want to make a comment about yourself to yourself, think what it is that you want others to think about you.

Thoughts and Actions

July 26, 2008 on 2:59 am | In Our Thinking | 2 Comments

Thoughts and Actions.
Have you ever heard about the definition of insanity? Most of the sales people have.

The definition of insanity, is doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results. How it is really explained to us, and how it was explained to me; that if we take the same actions and we expect different results, that is the definition of insanity.  We know that there is truth to it but it really goes much, much deeper than that. If you change actions, for example you make more sales appointments you will get more sales and better results this way. Yes, you will change your results, but only a little. You will never achieve your dream by doing that. The real meaning of the definition of insanity is thinking the same way and expecting different results. It is never going to happen!!! Our actions are results of what we think and they produce results. So if we are thinking the same way, we will act the same way and we will have the same results we always had. Only when we change our thinking, we will change our results. When you think in a different way, you will act in a different way and you will achieve your dream. Where you are at this moment is the result of what you have been thinking till now. And that is great news, because they are your thoughts and you can change them any time!

Always remember, you have absolute power to transform your life. What you need to do is to transform your thinking.

You Set Your Goal. Now What?

July 20, 2008 on 10:06 pm | In Goals | 2 Comments

On a very special day, you set down and you wrote your goals. You wrote on a piece of paper or on your computer what it is that you really want. You wrote about you dreams. You probably looked at them and wondered, and now what? What am I going to do to achieve them?

You don’t have to know how to achieve it. You have to believe that you are going to achieve this goal. Believing in achieving your goal is not enough. The right thinking and the best positive thinking you can imagine is not enough to achieve your goal. You have to act on the idea. You have to make a plan of action.

How do you start?

You start by taking another piece of paper or just sit at your computer and start writing. You need to write what is the best you can do, with what you have, from where you are. Write everything that comes to your mind. Keep writing until you run out of ideas. Then stop. Look at what you wrote and answer a question for yourself. “Is this the best I can do?” Then write some more ideas. Then ask the same question again. When nothing comes to your mind, start acting on your ideas. Never stop! Ad new ideas and keep the ball rolling until it hits the goal.

How To Convince Someone That You Are Special?

July 13, 2008 on 11:50 pm | In Our Thinking | 1 Comment

After one of my seminars I was asked a great question;

“How can I convince the judges that I am the winner of the competition?”

This is what I answered:

You can not convince the judges that you are the winner. The only person you need to convince is yourself. If you feel and believe in the depth of your heart that you are the winner, then you are. You don’t have to convince anyone. When you believe that you are the winner, you think like a winner, you act as a winner, you talk as a winner. Your entire demeanor says loud and clearly; I am a winner and it shows to everyone that is around you, including judges.

That applies to all areas of your life. Before you want to convince someone that you are the best for that job, the best choice for a partner, the best business person in your category, the best parent, the best student, friend…etc.; first you have to convince yourself that you are that person. When you are that person, you don’t need to convince anyone. They will know it.

You are a very special person. All you need to do is to see that for yourself….deep in your heart…than everyone will notice it as well.

Who Is In The Driver’s Seat of Your Life?

July 6, 2008 on 1:30 am | In Our Thinking | No Comments

There are many differences between successful people and unsuccessful people. One thing I wanted to concentrate on today is that successful people are in the driver’s seat of their life. They are the ones that make the decisions where to go and how to go about it. They are the ones who are in charge of their fate. They make their fate.

On the other hand the unsuccessful people are in the passenger’s seat. They are ones who feel that everyone is pulling their strings. They feel like they are the little people in the big world and they have no control over anything, or hardly anything. They often feel helpless, underpaid and not appreciated. If it happens that you are that person, think about this. Who is your driver and where are you going? What will happen when your driver decides to drive off the cliff? If this was the case, remember you are in the passenger’s seat and you are going with him or her!

You are such a powerful being. You have such incredible potential. You and only YOU should be in the driver’s seat of your life. All you need to do, is to take that seat, and claim it as YOURS for the rest of your life!

Celebration of Life!

June 28, 2008 on 9:58 pm | In Goals | 1 Comment

I had a fantastic comment to one of my blogs.  Thank you!
“Words of wisdom, why dream at all if you don’t dream big, why settle for less when you know that you always, can make more of yourself. You could not have put it better, life is too short to dream small, and they say death takes you to a better place however why would it???”

One preacher said that at a funeral the saddest thing is not a death of the body, but a death of the dreams. It is the passion you have not followed; it is the car or house you have not bought; it is the vacations you have not taken. How true! We go through life compromising, wishing for better things, waiting for the opportunity that might never come or even when it finally comes we are too scared to jump into it, just in case… we might fail. We prefer to be safe and keep wishing.  You know the saying, “Better safe than sorry.” If you are always safe and you don’t take any intelligent risk, we are going to be  sorry.  I wanted to emphasize, the “Intelligent risk”, not just any risk. You see, you can not achieve anything worth while without an intelligent risk. What we do with our lives is; we tiptoe through it hoping we will get safely to death. Is it an intelligent game? You answer it for yourself.

Instead of wishing all your life, dream big like the person in the comments said. Don’t wait for death to take you to a better place, if there is one. Make this life a better place for yourself and for your loved ones. Look for opportunities! Or if you can’t find them, create them! You are the creator of your life. When you have the opportunity, dive into it! Enjoy the thrill and explore the deep waters, swim with the current and come to the surface as a winner! I can not agree more with the comment. Life is too short to dream small, too short to let it pass you by so you can regret all the things you have not done when you were younger. Do them now, and live your life to the fullest! You deserve it!

Remember though, dreaming is not enough, you have to work at it!
